St. Luke’s Health Now Episode Discusses New Innovations in Orthopedic Sports Medicine
This episode highlights new technology with experts from St. Luke's University Health Network.
The next episode of St. Luke’s Health Now will air on Monday, May 25, at 6:30 p.m. on WFMZ, Channel 69. In this episode, St. Luke’s University Health Network (SLUHN) physicians explore new innovations in orthopedic sports medicine.
This episode features a panel of physicians at SLUHN:
Ajay Kanakamedala, MD, St. Luke’s Orthopedic Care
Tyler Smith, DO, St. Luke’s Orthopedic Care
“One thing I’m really excited about, and it’s going to be a game changer, is the combination of artificial intelligence (AI) and wearable technology,” said Dr. Smith. “This is going to allow us to track an athlete’s movement patterns and even detect breakdowns in their mechanics. We may even be able to intervene early with things like proactive training or physical therapy, potentially even prevent injuries before they occur.”
St. Luke’s Health Now, hosted by Ashley Russo, co-founder of Turnstone Creative, is a co-production of Turnstone and SLUHN.
St. Luke's Health Now complements other St. Luke's health and wellness programming, including Talk with Your Doctor, a 30-minute live call-in show in its 21st year. St. Luke's Health Now and Talk with Your Doctor air in rotation every Monday at 6:30 PM on WFMZ-TV Channel 69 (Service Electric channel 508 and RCN channel 1007).
